The internet rumour mill has it that the fifth film about the mentally unstable Vietnam war vet John Rambo, who is capable of killing the whole cast of the film, but somehow is always the good guy, would be shot in Bulgaria.
Given that there is only one company in Bulgaria that shoots films for Hollywood, Nu Boyana studio, owned by Los Angeles-based Nu Image, The Sofia Echo contacted the company to see whether there was any substance to the speculation.
Dessislava Petrova, Nu Boyana spokesperson, told The Sofia Echo that the reports are "just rumours" at this stage.
Nu Image had signed a contract with Sylvester Stallone for Rambo 5, but it was still unknown where the film would be shot, Petrova said. It was much too early to predict given that even the script hasn’t been written yet, she added.
Stallone has recently returned to his most successful two acts, directing and starring in the sixth instalment in the Rocky Balboa series and a fourth Rambo movie over the past two years.
